Wiggins is OUT – usage boost’s to KAT, Teague and Covington. Also should help keep the game close so boost to Wizards as well.
THE STARTING FIVE:
KARL-ANTHONY TOWNS – MIN v was (FD$10,900|DK$10,000)
It’s no surprise that Washington is bad on defence, specifically, they are 29th in defensive efficiency. That makes KAT a clear top play for me considering the projected total in this game is 238. Also, when you take into account KAT dropped 53.8DKFP against the Spurs, 60.5DKFP against the Nuggets and 49.3DKFP against the Heat, is it out of the question to expect a ceiling game from KAT tonight? He’s a walking double-double each night and he’s averaging nine three point attempts per game. He’s a lock for 5x with 7x upside tonight.
BRADLEY BEAL – WAS @ min (FD$8,900|DK$8,500)
Sticking with the highest scoring game on the slate we’re looking at Mr. Beal who has played over 39 minutes per game in his last three games and dropped a 62.8DKFP burger against the Celtics last time he hit the court. He’s going to shoot the ball more than 20 times, the Timberwolves are not a stout defensive team overall and they are 22nd in defending SG’s this year. The upside is real and he should be a strong consideration in your lineups tonight.
JAYLEN BROWN – BOS @ gs (FD$7,200|DK$7,500)
Brown has picked up the void left by Haywood’s injury quite nicely. Over the last three games he has taken 18, 16 and 19 shots with an average of over 42 DKFPPG. There is room to improve on these numbers as well considering he’s connecting only 27% from three which is down from his 36% career average. The matchup couldn’t be better against the Warriors (last in defensive efficiecy) and with Draymond locking down Tatum there could be additional looks for Brown.
RUI HACHIMURA – WAS @ min (FD$5,900|DK$5,100)
Why not get another piece from the highest scoring game on the slate? Hachimura is on a two-game hot streak with double-digit shot attempts equating to a 34 DKFPPG average. He has taken a bigger role on the Wizards offensive scheme and should see an extended run in this game. He’s coming off a three game cold streak so he could fly under the radar for another game but you shouldn’t sleep on him. He should get you your 5x and he just got 7x two games ago. If there is a downside, Covington is a good defender but Love and Tatum are not so bad either.
AUSTIN RIVERS – HOU @ ind (FD$3,500|DK$3,700)
This may not be a sexy play but Rivers is now locked in to over 30 minutes per game and is one of the primary playmakers on the second unit for the Rockets. As it stands right now there isn’t a great source of value on the slate (Outside of Chandler) so I’m going to take the minute floor for Rivers and hope for the best. He did drop 22.3 FPoints four games ago and last game he shot 3-12 including 1-8 from beyond the arc. All he needs is a few of those shots to drop and we’re on our way to 6x.
Domantas Sabonis, Malcolm Brogdon, Tyson Chandler, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley (revenge), Thomas Bryant, Jeff Teague, Enes Kanter, Anthony Davis, Robert Covington
